The twins’ nursery

When I envisioned the nursery for Madison and Mason, I immediately thought: Boho. I wanted it to feel flowy, creative, a little different. I know that this theme is wildly popular lately but it seemed to fit for what I was looking for and I’m so glad we went that route.

As we navigated NICU life, we also were finishing our basement. We needed this to be accomplished because we were moving our oldest daughter, Avery, in to the basement so that we could use her old room as the nursery as it was closest to our bedroom. This sparked a LOT of feelings because I wasn’t quite sure I wanted my first baby so far away in the basement but it turns out, those fears were unfounded because she’s taken to it so well.

We finally finished our basement about a week after both twins were home from the NICU. Which meant my house was chaos. Luckily, and with a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, we really pushed through and got their future bedroom cleaned out. My Step-MIL came over and she helped me paint the twins room. We went from white, to an oatmeal color which really warmed up the room and made the wood trim look way better than it did before.

Once that was finished, we added the painted arches above where the cribs were going to go. This took some thought, but with a long ruler, a pencil, a level, and some painters tape, we perfected the look.

While in the NICU, I had purchased ALL the baby things for the room. I have linked them so if you find anything you like, you can snag it for yourself! Now that the room was finished, we could put the cribs and furniture together. After a much needed solo Target run to finalize all the storage and decor options, I got to work adding the last minute details. I hope you enjoy and can gain a little inspo from our lovely nursery!

Hobby Lobby finds: glass canister for pacifier storage, a round placemat, and serving tray to store hand sanitizer, bottom cream, and lotion! The lamp is touch and has three settings to create the perfect ambiance for any time of day (or night!).
